Comings and goings

Hi Friends!

Oh my.  I am so behind on my posts I don't know where to begin!  What a wonderful summer I am having!  I guess I'll start by sending you to my overflowing photo gallery :)   You can check out all my adventures and activities there if you like, and I'll add a few posts to fill in the details.

I'll start with my local adventures.  As you know, I do love my animals.  Mommy takes me to zoo a lot so I can see my favorites like the blue frogs and the otters.  A few weeks ago we took a special adventure to the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma!  It was a really long drive but it was worth it!  I got to see a huge walrus that swam right up to me at the window, and I climbed on a spider web!   I also got to pretend to take care of a lizard.  I checked him out for a long time.

Another day we went to the aquarium and guess what I saw in the tank… A MAN!  He was definitely my favorite part of the day.

We've had all kinds of other adventures including playing with grandma Deane at the rose garden (she is so funny!), and having a barbeque supper at Magnuson Park.  I also had to say goodbye to my friend Alessia and her family.  They moved away last month so we had a goodbye party for them at a restaurant.  As usual we had a hard time taking a picture of all of us together :)

Oh!  And we picked blueberries!  Unfortunately it was the day the Blue Angels were practicing right over the blueberry patch.  They were WAY too noisy for me.  Everytime they flew over I covered my ears and said "no more angels!!!"  The blueberries, however, were delicious!

Over the last month we've had all kinds of other wonderful adventures and activities so I tell you about them in other posts.  We travelled to see the mountain goats, I got to have two birthday parties, my garden is growing like crazy!  Stay tuned for more news :)

Busy July days…

July 13th, 2010

Hi Friends!

Wow, July has been busy so far!  We've had a few days of summer-like weather, but generally we are still waiting for the sunshine.  I'm not letting the clouds slow me down though.  We've had lots of adventures.

Mommy and I took a trip to the Children's Museum in Everett which is REALLY fun.  As I think I've mentioned before, the train table is fantastic!  I also had fun with the water table and the tree house.  We've also taken our typical trips to the zoo which I always love.  My favorite is still the blue poison dart frog, but I can be convinced to take the tractor for a spin and milk the pretend cow in the family farm.  The bears were busy the last time we visited, which is always exciting!  And the rose garden was beautiful.  My favorite part is the lightswitch in the gazebo, but the fish in the pond are a close second.

I finally talked mommy into letting me do some fingerpainting last week, but it is never quite what I imagine.  I just don't really like getting my hands dirty.  I think paint brushes are more my speed.

The big news since my last post was of course daddy's birthday!  I helped mommy make a yummy carrot cake.  My jobs were to push the button on the Cuisinart to shred the carrots and then eat the carrot peelings.  I love to eat any vegetable I can steal off the counter.  I'm not so psyched to eat them on my dinner plate, but off the counter, or better yet straight from the garden… I can't be stopped!  Anyway, for daddy's birthday we went out for an early breakfast at a restaurant, which I love to do.  I had bacon, eggs, bacon, water, bacon, jam from my toast, and did I say bacon?  I like bacon :)   Then we had a party at our house with our family, including some cousins I don't get to see very often.  Cohen is 5 and he was really fun to play with.  He brought his little stuffed animal "spunky" and I was really concerned about spunky's loss of a nose.  Apparently he had a run-in with Cohen's puppy.  Grandma Deane came too and brought me a bag of Pirate Booty!  She really knows me well :)   I even offered to share it with the other kids, but mostly I got to eat it all up myself.

We had great plans to spend the 4th of July at a big picnic carnival event in Bellevue, but soon after we arrived it started really raining hard.  What a bummer!  I did get to jump in a bouncy house, and was mesmerized by the balloons that were frequently let go of by other attendees and floated up up up in the sky, and the kettle corn!  The highlight of the day was probably the kettle corn.  But in the end we decided to go back to grandma Deane's house for a picnic instead of hanging out in the wind and rain at the park.

And finally, we took a big trip this past weekend to Seaside Oregon for Relay for Life.  We visited with mommy and daddy's friend Taeryn and her little boy Silas (not my Silas), and we walked/ran around the track lots of times.  We slept in the tent, which is always fun, and took a nice break on the beach.  It wasn't very sunny but it was warm and I had a blast splashing in the cold waves with daddy, and playing in the sand.  I even stuck my face it!  The bad part of the trip was the port-a-potties.  At the Relay, I was excited to go potty in the port-a-potties at first.   Who wouldn't be?  You get to do your pee pee on the blue water!  But Sunday morning, after much use, the potties were pretty full of yucky stuff.  Mommy brought me in to do my peeps… and I started to feel yucky.  Mommy helped me come out right away and I spit out my breakfast on the ground.  Mommy said the yucky bathroom made me gaggle.  After that, I stuck to the clean potties.  Mommy said I could just pee in the grass, but I really liked the blue water so I just wanted to find a clean port-a-potty :)

That's probably all for now.  My garden is still lots of fun.  I am checking the raspberries and eating the broccoli right off the plants.  Soon the sunflowers will be blooming.  I am looking forward to that :)

Enjoy the summer!

Silas’ baby arrived!

June 30th, 2010

Hi Friends!

To continue my story… Silas ended up spending the night at our house on Monday because his mommy was busy having the baby :)   We had a slumber party!  We even had some leftover birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to baby.  At first I was really upset by the idea of sharing my bath with Silas, but once we got started it was really fun :)   It is great to have a playmate in the tub!

So now, Silas is home with his baby.  I hope to play with him again one day soon and I really want to meet the baby, but for now I get to go to grandma's house instead.  Hurray!
