Ice cream and candles… the birthday that keeps on giving!

Hi Friends!

I thought I’d share a few of my adventures with you from the past couple of weeks.  First of all, my friend Alessia has a birthday the day after mine, so to celebrate this year we went to her house for a little party!  As you can see, I may have had a little too much fun :)   First I drove a riding toy right down a short flight of cement stairs and scraped up my head on the sidewalk… OUCH!  Then we had fun coloring on a cardboard house, and on our clothes!  Oh, maybe that was just me.  At any rate, great party all around.  And hurray for birthday cake!

Then a few days later when Silas came over to hang out with mommy and me, grandma came over with a surprise!  We got to have ice cream cones!  For the first time!  It was really great.  Silas really had the hang of the licking, while I preferred to eat the cone.  Unfortunately the purpose of the cone was not all together clear to me until I ate the whole thing and was left with a VERY cold blob of ice cream in my hands.  Next time, I’ll try licking.

What else?  We had a fun visit from lots of mommy’s (and now daddy’s) friends from Peace Corps.  I got to play with two little kids, Eliot and Bella.  They were really fun.  Silas and I have been playing dress up with the cozy scarves and hats again lately.  I guess we are getting ready for fall.  And mommy took me to the wading pool again!  What fun!  I love to splash around and run around the park.

On Saturday, since Silas and I missed each other’s birthday parties, we had a birthday breakfast over at our house.  We each got a balloon (mine has a choo choo train; Silas’ has diggers) and we got to have a candle and sprinkles on our waffles!  Yahoo!  Oh and bacon.  I can’t forget the bacon.  A few hours before they came over, mommy told me Silas was bringing the bacon to our house.  I talked about bacon from that moment until I actually got to eat some.  Yummy!  Even better than waffles!

That’s all for now.  We are going to the fair this afternoon, so I’m sure I’ll have some photos to share after that :)

So fun to look at summer pictures again. Time roars by so quickly — I can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving!
