Summiting Rattlesnake Ledge (mommy: beast of burden)

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Hello my faithful fans,

Although I just posted yesterday I had to write again to tell you of my Presidents’ Day adventure!  At daddy’s suggestion (though he had to work) mommy and I left the house early and headed to Rattlesnake Ledge outside of North Bend for a hike.  What a beautiful day!  The sky was blue, the birds were singing, the geese were honking (the trail is above Rattlesnake Lake; mommy said it is a favorite among the Canada geese) and we were hiking!  Well, to be fair, I was riding and sleeping on the way up, just enjoying the fresh air.  Right as we got to the top I woke up so as not to miss the view!  And it was fantastic!

We took a few photos and then started down again.  As mommy predicted, I was not too keen on staying in the backpack for the reverse trip, but I did my best and rode until about a quarter mile from the end.  Mommy thought it was a REALLY long quarter mile, but we made it to the lake eventually, visited the geese, and had a tailgate snack back at the car.

All in all, a lovely morning.  I hope everyone got to enjoy the sunshine as much as I did.  I’ll talk with you again soon!  Oh!  And p.s. – you can see my new hair cut in these photos :)

18 months of O.Z.

Hi friends!
Well I’ve recovered from croup, thank goodness.  I’ve been out of sorts lately, but I think I’ve got 4 new teeth coming in, so y’all will have to cut me some slack.  I don’t know how two weeks have flown by; we didn’t even take many pictures.  But time marches on so I’ve posted a few and I’ll give you my February update.

Mommy and daddy and I have been enjoying our membership to the Children’s Museum.  On our last visit I was trying to understand the intricacies of this whole "sharing" thing.  I don’t really like it.  I was playing with this toy rabbit hutch but I really didn’t like it when a little girl kept putting the stuffed rabbit inside.  I wanted it empty!!!  I had a great time driving the bus though.  All in all it is a great place :)

As I said I got over my croup, but then last week I went to the doctor for my 18 month check up (yup!  I’m a year and a half!) I screamed the whole time and mommy and the doctor realized I had a fever.  I was up most of that night with a high fever, but over the follow few days it seemed to just go away without other symptoms except grumpiness, drooling, and no appetite.  HELLO PARENTS…. MY TEETH MIGHT BE HURTING.  I’m still waiting on four eye teeth.  They are on their way and are making me miserable.  I’m doing my best to keep it together but sometimes I just can’t.  The only thing that can make me happy sometimes is frozen food.  I mean eating it while it is frozen.  Here I am happy… after eating a bunch of frozen blueberries :)   They are a treat, but usually I am happy with the peas.

Oh yeah, and speaking of the doctor, although the visit was traumatic due to fever, I have some stats for you.  I am officially 22 lbs and 31 inches tall… and I more than half as tall as mommy!  It kinda freaks her out to think that :)

This weekend I got to go to grandma Deane’s house for Valentine’s Day and have a sleep over!  Yahoo!  She also gave me my second hair cut.  I don’t have any pictures of it but she did a great job.  I look rather smashing if I do say so myself.  I’ll post some photos next time; I’m sure she will send some to mommy.  Mommy and daddy went out to dinner and had to go home to an empty, lonely house without me…. :)   I’m sure they survived, and maybe even slept in!

That’s all for now I suppose.  Talk to you again soon!

The croup

Hi Friends!

Well I managed to get a new batch of photos posted in my gallery for you, but I’m not sure I can pull off an interesting post tonight.

I’ve had a blast at the Children’s Museum and zoo lately; we just got a membership to the museum so that means we get  to go a lot to get our money’s worth :)   Grandma Deane came with us once, which was really fun, and mommy and I went on Friday.  I especially love the conveyer belt in the Curious George section.  It drops the big foam blocks.  It is fantastic!

Mommy hosted a baby shower last weekend for cousin Kayrena, so I included a couple of photos of that.  I played at the community center with daddy, grandpa Bob, cousin Scott, and cousin Avonleah.  We left the ladies to their thing, whatever that was.

But now, when I want to write my blog, I am sick with croup.  Last night was really bad but today was better.  I hope I sleep well tonight.  Mommy and daddy probably hope so too!

So I’ll write again soon with better stories to tell, but for now you can just check out my gallery :)

Nighty-night!
