My new favorite thing…

The carousel at the zoo!  What fun!  I can’t believe it has been kept a secret from me for so long!  Today mommy and I went for a ride and it was fantastic!  Actually, it was so good that I talked her into going twice :)   Right on, mama.  I got to ride on a horse that went up and down, and see the lights and the other kids and other horses and stuff.  It was really great.  We also saw the gorillas and some other animals, but the carousel was definitely my favorite.

We had a great weekend too, actually.  On Saturday our friends Kathy and Nick came over for dinner, but I missed most of it because I had to go to bed.  And then guess what?  In the morning they were still at our house!  We had a slumber party :)   Then on Sunday we had a big adventure and went up to the mountains to do some snowshoeing.  I am still too small for snowshoeing, and I can’t say that playing in snow is my favorite thing just yet, but I rode in the backpack and had a great time.  Phoebe and Ray came with us also, so we had a nice big group.

What else can I tell you about?  One thing I have been having fun with lately is sorting laundry.  Well, I don’t really sort it as much as move it, item by item, into a new pile.  It keeps me busy for half an hour!  Here I am just getting started… and then here I am after I moved the whole pile out of the laundry room one sock at a time.  Good fun!  If only mommy would let me play with the clean clothes :)   She doesn’t like it when I undo her folding though.

A few notes for you:

I LOVE raisins and kiwi, even if they give me the trots.

I think toots are hilarious.  If I toot (or hear a toot) I laugh, then try to push one out myself.  I’ve been known to dirty a diaper in this effort.

My new favorite song is BINGO because I love to clap along.  The tough part is that my sign for "more" is clapping, but now I also clap when I want to sing the song… and sometimes when I want to do patticake :)   I like to keep mommy and daddy guessing.

I really love playing with my matchbox cars.  A lot.

Trying to keep my promise…

Hi friends!

Check me out…. posting a new entry!  I am trying to keep my resolution :)

We celebrated 2009 with a fancy dinner on the 1st at Grandma Deane’s house.  I wasn’t so interested in dinner actually, but I got this fabulous balloon!  My favorite!

I have finally gotten my appetite back, so that has been good.  In fact, I can’t seem to stop eating. :)   Mommy had to go to the store mid-week to buy more fruit for me because we weren’t going to make it to the weekend :)   I do love my bananas!  And peas!  Aren’t peas the best?!  And let me tell you about kiwi.  THE best winter fruit.  Next to pears, that is.

My new nanny came this week, so that was fun!  She has her own little baby, Andrew, who comes with her.  He is only 8 months old, so I finally get to be the big boy :)   I like it a lot!

Today mommy and I had the whole day to ourselves and I think my excitement got the best of me.  We went on a little adventure to the Aquarium, which started out just fantastically!  We saw SO many fish and a wolf-eel and an octopus and the wave machine and everything!  But then when it started getting close to lunch time I started crying, and I can’t really explain it… I guess it just felt right?  I screamed and cried for 40 minutes while kicking my shoes off and spitting out my raisins.  It was pretty impressive if I do say so myself.  In the end we just came home for lunch, and I calmed down as soon as I got in the car.  What can I say?  I like to keep mommy guessing :)

I guess that’s all for now.  Can I just mention, I am looking forward to warmer, dryer weather.  I LOVE to play outside and I think winter is cramping my style.

Ciao!

My New Year’s Resolution!

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Hi friends!

As you may have noticed, I missed the entire month of December.  I’m so sorry to keep you in the dark about my comings and goings!  It is my resolution (mommy is going to try to remind me) to keep you updated more often.  So in the spirit of frequent posts, I will post this entry in mini-chapters.  I don’t think I could remember everything in order, so here are some stand out topics :)   First of all:

SILAS AND ME

I just thought I’d let you know how much fun I have when Silas comes over on Mondays :)   We run circles around mommy, and we are all very tired at the end of the day, but its a lot of fun.  Unfortunately he has given me his last two sicknesses, but other than that we get along just fine.  Mommy takes us out in our double stroller almost everytime, as you can see by our various outfits for any weather.

SNOW SNOW SNOW!

Boy did we have a lot of it!  It was so beautiful from the window, and I liked to go for walks with mommy and daddy, but it was pretty hard for me to play in.  At first it was really cold and icy, so I sometimes fell down (although you may think daddy hit me with a snowball, he didn’t.  I went bobbing for snow…), and then when the snow got really deep, I was way too sick to go outside.  More on that later.  We did get to spend several days at grandma Deane’s house because she had planned to babysit me but her car couldn’t go in the snow, so we all got to have a slumber party at grandma’s!  It was great.  Anyway, I hope to see snow again this year, and if not then I will look forward to next year.

CHRISTMAS

What a wonderful holiday Christmas is!  I got to spend lots of time with my family and everyone gave me presents!  Well, I should say that it would have been wonderful if I hadn’t been so sick.  I got a really bad cold and felt just miserable for days.  Everything seemed so fun and pretty and bright, but I didn’t even want to open my presents.  I just did a lot of coughing and sneezing and crying.  Sorry everybody.  It was great to see my family though, including Uncle Ryan and Aunt Emily’s dog Buck!  He and I were wearing matching sweaters :)   I finally got to go to the doctor after Christmas and I got this fancy breathing treatment machine.  What do you think?  I only had to use it a couple of times.  Then to top it all off I started throwing up the night before New Year’s Eve, so we just stayed home and went to bed early, which was ok by me.  I am now on the mend, so that’s good.

2009

I wish you all a very nice year.  I plan to get a few more teeth (I’m up to 12 now!), a few more words, and some fork skills.  I’ll also be getting a new caregiver on Tuesday who will be bringing her little baby Andrew with her.  I’ll let you know how it goes :)   Finally, someone littler than me!  Stay warm and healthy!
