My new pearly white!

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Hi folks!

Well yes, the big news since my last post is that I am getting my first tooth!  It cut through my gums last Sunday and I think the one right beside it is coming in next.  Teeth are weird.  I’ve been trying to check out my new one with my tongue (which makes me drool so much that I need to change my t-shirt) and by biting everything I can get my hands on.  Watch your fingers.  It is pretty fun though.  Mommy and daddy say I will look really cute once the tooth is visible when I smile.  Should be fun :)

It will be especially nice when it comes in further because then I will be able to eat more foods!  We’ve been having a lot of fun with foods lately.  Last weekend mommy did lots of cooking and pureeing and freezing.  She made me all kinds of babyfood including: apples, blueberries, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, quinoa, pears, broccoli, peas, spinach, and chicken!  What a smorgasbord!  I have also been eating Cheerios, which are great, but kinda tricky.  I’m still getting used to picking them up and getting them successfully to my mouth.  But when I do it, they are terrific.

I’ve also been practicing my movin’ and groovin’.  I’m really good at rolling now and I’ve started practicing my crawling moves.  I can crawl backwards pretty well… but who wants to do that?  Forwards is where it is at.  I’ll keep you posted on my progress.  Its a little frustrating, but mommy and daddy say I am getting better every day.

Oh, and daddy thought I should give you an update on our flicker situation.  As it turns out, the flicker wasn’t just making noise to attract the ladies afterall.  He pecked a hole in our house and started to go in it.  The neighbors kept an eye on the house during the day and gave daddy the update.  So he had to patch the hole again and hang some bird netting to keep them away.  So far it seems to have worked.  But now there is a chickadee on the other side of the house who is pecking and pecking for some reason.  I think all the birdies want to make a nest in our house because it is such a great place to raise babies!  As evidenced by moi :)

Yesterday mommy had to work, so daddy and I took a little trip to the zoo.  It was such a beautiful day; we had a nice time.  Then last night we visited our friend Colin and his mommy and daddy Tanya and Craig for dinner.  Colin shared his toys with me and everything.  It was fun.  And then today we went with our PEPS friends to the aquarium and saw so many beautiful fish and even divers in the tanks!  I can’t wait to go back… maybe on a weekday when it isn’t so crowded.

Other than that we have just been hanging out, playing with toys and such.  In about a week Grandpa Steve is coming to see me!  I can’t wait to meet him!  It is going to be great.  See ya later!

Hurray for Spring!

Oh my goodness!  Yesterday was such a beautiful sunny day!  It has been so cold for so long.  How wonderful to just wear my t-shirt outside on the grass.  Apparently summer is like that.  I can’t wait!

Well let me think.  We’ve had some fun over the last several weeks.  We went to the zoo with our PEPS friends a while back.  It was a sunny day (hence my cool shades) but it sure wasn’t very warm.  We saw lots of great animals as usual, and this beautiful peacock!  Then we took a lunch break in the food court and headed home for naps.  Speaking of naps, have I mentioned that I sometimes take longer afternoon naps now?  Not every day, but sometimes.  Mommy seems pleased :)

The week before last I got the terrible pukey pukes again.  Luckily it didn’t make me too sad or uncomfortable, but I threw up 3 times (once all over daddy!) so I got to stay home from daycare and play with mommy and daddy.  It wasn’t so bad.  I didn’t have much of an appetite for a while though, so now I am trying to make up for lost time!

Last week my new swimming class started, so that was fun.  There are all new kids in my class so hopefully I’ll make some new friends.  So far we have mostly been singing songs and splashing around and but soon I think we’ll be dipping underwater again.  Mommy says I’m a little tunafish.

I guess the latest news at home is that there is a bird making a hole (now two holes) in our house!  Mommy and daddy are not pleased.  It is a woodpecker called a flicker, and they say he is trying to make a loud noise to attract the lady flickers.  I don’t know if it is working, but he has made a hole big enough for the chickadees to pull out insulation.  Daddy fixed it yesterday, but today when we got home from shopping there was new hole right beside the patch.  The worst part of it is that it wakes me up from my naps!

Once again mommy has been going crazy with the camera :)   Here are some of her favorite shots of me playing on the bed.

On Friday Grandma Deane babysat me since she was on spring break.  That was so fun!  We always have such fun adventures and get to play with cool toys.  Then mommy and daddy came over for dinner and we all spent the night.

Yesterday I played in the grass with mommy and daddy.  It was such a nice day!  Then we celebrated uncle Tom’s birthday at The Keg restaurant.  I got to sit in a high chair and everything!  After I ate up my sweet potatoes and pears mommy let me try some bread and mashed potatoes.  Yum.  I was pooped by the end of it though.  It was good to be home in my own bed.

Today we went over to Atticus’s house with our PEPS friends to play.  He sure has lots of fun toys!  We had a good time.  Lily was getting ready to go to a Mariners game.  What a cute hat!

I think that’s about it for now.  Talk to you again soon!
