Wow! It has been ages since I’ve written. So sorry for the delay. Who knew December would be so busy? I’ll give a recap of the highlights, but you should also have a look at my photo gallery. There are two new folders of pictures since my last post.
So early in the month mommy went back to work three days a week and I started going to daycare. It is hard to believe that was this month! It seems like ages ago! Daycare is a lot of fun. I get to hang out with a few other little kids… and a cat! I do love to watch the cat. Mommy comes to get me at about 3:30, so it isn’t bad at all. Mommy says work is going alright, but I think she has more fun playing with me
December 10th was my 4-month birthday, though I am creeping up on five months now! I got my shots and I got weighed at the doctor. I was 12 pounds even, so I am still in the 5th percentile. And I am now on the chart for length… 3rd percentile. My head circumference is the biggy: 25th percentile
I’m sure I’ll be a smarty pants. After my doctor visit I had a little fever, but it was no big deal. Of course I’m just fine.
It was a busy month for mommy and daddy what with getting ready for Christmas (I helped pick the tree!) and everything. Grandma Deane offered to play with me a few times so mommy and daddy could do some shopping and go out for a few nice holiday dinners with friends. We had so much fun! Grandma has so many fun toys at her house that I sometimes don’t want to leave.
I was so lucky at my daycare this year because Santa Claus came for a visit! He brought presents and candy canes (again, no teeth no candy for me) and we got to sit on his knee for a photo. That was great. Some of the older kids cried but I don’t know what all the fuss was about. He seemed nice enough to me, and we had on matching outfits!
Here comes the bad news. On my last day of daycare before Christmas I got the pukey-pukes. Daddy said it was the good old fashioned stomach flu. Yuck! Luckily for me I was only sick for about a day, but then daddy hurt his back… and I gave him the stomach flu on the same day so he had the pukey-pukes from the couch because his back was too sore to get up! What a terrible day! Then of course mommy got sick. I guess that’s how it goes. We were all well again for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but mommy had an extreme relapse on the 26th. Sheesh. I think we are all in the clear now.
Speaking of Christmas, it finally came and it was wonderful! We even had a little snow! On Christmas Eve mommy and daddy and I went to Great Uncle Rick and Great Aunt Kim’s house with many of daddy’s cousins and Grandpa Bob and Grandma Valorie, Aunt Anne, Uncle Jason, Uncle Tom, and many others. What fun! I met baby Eddye and checked her out, and watched the big kids open presents. Mommy and daddy helped me open mine; I sure got a lot of nice stuff! Clothes, books, toys, CD’s you name it!
Then Christmas morning we went to Grandma Deane’s house for breakfast with Great Uncle Len from Toronto. We went for a walk in the morning and it was snowing/raining. Later Uncle Ryan and Aunt Emily came over and we opened the stockings from Santa and all the presents under the tree. We all got such wonderful presents! I even got some nice pictures and art work for my bedroom wall. Grandma Deane made a really nice Christmas dinner, then it was time for mommy and daddy to go to party number 3. Grandma Deane put me to bed because I was too tired for another event, and mommy and daddy came home later to spend the night with me. Oh and guess what I did as soon as mommy and daddy walked out the door?…. I LAUGHED! My first laugh on Christmas day. Good fun. I’ve tested it out a few more times since, but it is still kind of a rare thing.
Mommy and daddy went to Great Uncle Ron and Great Aunt Carrie’s house for dessert and presents. I wish I could have stayed up long enough to go, but it was a busy day and I was pooped. They brought home MORE presents for me if you can imagine.
Then, like I said, we all woke up at Grandma Deane’s house on the 26th but mommy was very sick, so we had to stay another night. Lucky for me Grandma was there to take care of me. I was worried about mommy, but everything turned out ok. Daddy was looking after her.
Friday night we went over to our friends Phoebe and Ray’s house for a dinner party. I don’t have any photos but we really had a nice time. And they have a dog! One day I think I am really going to like dogs.
Today we went to our PEPS group to visit with my baby friends, and that brings us about up to date! Surely I am forgetting things, but you get the idea. Tomorrow night we are going to Aunt Kathy and Uncle Nick’s house to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Do you think I can stay up until midnight? Mommy says no way! I’ll see if I can try…
