Once again I have had an eventful week. Last weekend mommy and daddy and I were invited for breakfast with grandma Deane. She has such fun stuffed animals and toys for me to look at! We had a nice time. Then in the afternoon we went to a housewarming party for Aunt Kathy and Uncle Nick. Daddy was happy to see that the football game was on, but unfortunately our team lost at the last minute. I cried.
Tuesday mommy and I went to our mom and baby group meeting again. There weren’t as many babies as last time, but it was still a lot of fun. Mommy seems to really enjoy talking with other moms. Then when it was time to go I guess I had a bit of an adventure. To tell the truth I slept through the whole thing, but mommy told me about it and it sounded very exciting. Mommy loaded me in the car in my car seat and tossed in the diaper bag, and just as she shut the door the whole car locked automatically with me inside… with the keys! Mommy was apparently quite worried and found someone to call 911 for help. Unfortunately the policeman that arrived said he could only break a window, he couldn’t help unlock the car. Yikes! Fortunately Pop-A-Lock came and let mommy into the car, no harm done. And they did it for free! Apparently if a child is locked in the car there is no charge. As for me, I slept through the whole business including the car alarm. I just woke up when mommy started the engine
Wednesday evening daddy and mommy and I started going to a new group called PEPS. We go and hang out with other new babies and their parents and learn about stuff. Again, I tend to nod off through the boring parts, but I liked meeting the other babies. We are going to have the meeting at our house on Halloween! Mommy and daddy said I can wear a costume and everything! I can’t wait. But I guess I’ll have to wait another year or two for the candy. I don’t have teeth.
Thursday mommy and I went to visit a friend of mommy’s from graduate school and her baby Elias. Elais is almost one year old; what a big boy! He can almost walk by himself and everything. We went for a walk and the mommies talked about stuff. Again, I mostly snoozed. Then Thursday evening was the big event… mommy and daddy’s 4th anniversary! Grandma Deane came over to play with me while daddy and mommy went out for dinner to celebrate. Unfortunately I hadn’t had the opportunity to shop for a gift for them, so I decided to sleep an extra hour and a half that night. Mommy was so happy and well rested! I guess I should do that more often… nah!
Saturday was another nice day. We visited the farmer’s market as usual, and then went over to Grandma Deane’s house in the evening for dinner with my Great Uncle Len! He came all the way from Toronto just to see me! We had a nice time and even went to see a cyclo-cross race. While the announcer wasn’t that interesting, the racers were really impressive.
And finally Sunday was… for football! Grandma Valorie, Grandpa Bob and Cousin Colin came over to play with me and watch the Seahawks game. I think Cousin Colin and Grandma Valorie weren’t all that interested in the football game (if you can imagine) but they were excited to see me. They even brought apple-cinnamon rolls for daddy and mommy! Someday I’ll get to try them. Fortunately this weekend the Seahawks pulled through and won the game in an exciting finish! Again, this is what I am told. I accidently snoozed through the second half
Well I think that’s all for now. I need to get some extra rest because I have been feeling a bit under the weathe since Saturday. I seem to have a frog in my throat! More next week…
